Minutes of the Project Monitoring Committee Meeting held on 25th May 2011 in Áras an Chontae, Castlebar, at 10.00am.

1.         Minutes

 

The Minutes of the Project Monitoring Committee Meeting held on 12th January 2011 and already circulated, were adopted, having been proposed by Mr. Walsh and seconded by Mr. Butler.

 

2.         Matters arising

 

There were no matters arising.

 

3.         Water Quality – Carrowmore Lake

 

Mr. Walsh informed the meeting of the up to date position on water quality in Carrowmore Lake, as set out in report circulated to the meeting.  A copy of Mr. Walsh’s report together with the most recent verified results is available on the Mayo County Council website – www.mayococo.ie   

 

4.         Updates

 

·         Roadworks / Transportation

Mr. Walsh outlined to the meeting the position on roadworks / transportation as set out in report circulated – copy of which is available on www.mayococo.ie

 

 

·         Bord na Móna

The report on the Shrahmore site which had already been circulated was noted.  A copy of the report is available on www.mayococo.ie.   The report indicates that since the last meeting, there were no non-compliances, no complaints received and no incidents recorded.

 

5.         Update on Terminal

 

Mr. Butler updated the meeting on the position on the terminal building, as set out in report circulated, copy of which is available on www.mayococo.ie    He informed the meeting that SEPIL has decided to defer the testing schedule for the moment and that the maintenance and preservation programme had now commenced.

 

6.         Environmental Issues

 

Ms. Reynolds outlined to the meeting details of environmental issues as set out in report circulated – copy of which is available on www.mayococo.ie

 

7.                  Local Issues

 

There were no issues raised.

 

8.         Any other business

 

The Committee agreed that meetings of the PMC would be held quarterly from now on.

 

It was agreed to hold the next meeting of the PMC on 21st September 2011 at 10.00am in Castlebar.

 

 

This concluded the business of the meeting.
