REVIEW OF MAYO COUNTY DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2008-2014 PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT ACTS 2000-2010 & PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS 2001-2011
The planning authority proposes to carry out an environmental assessment as part of the review of the existing Plan and the preparation of a new Development Plan and for this purpose it will prepare an environmental report of the likely significant effects on the environment of implementing the new Development Plan. The planning authority will also undertake a Habitats Directive Assessment, including an Appropriate Assessment and a Flood Risk Assessment.
Submissions or observations regarding objectives and policies to deliver an overall strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of the area of the Development Plan may be made in writing to the Planning Authority. Children, or groups or associations representing the interests of children, are entitled to make such submissions or observations.
Submissions or observations should be clearly marked “Review of Mayo County Development Plan” and addressed to ‘Dette Cunningham, Senior Executive Planner, Forward Planning Section, Mayo County Council, Aras an Chontae, The Mall, Castlebar, Co. Mayo or e-mailed to forwardplanning@mayococo.ie. Submissions or observations should be received not later than 5pm Wednesday20th June 2012
Copies of the current Mayo County Development Plan 2008-2014 are available for inspection at Mayo County Council headquarters, Castlebar during normal office hours and on Mayo County Council’s website www.mayococo.ie
As part of the public consultation process, Public Information Meetings and informal drop-in consultation sessions will be held at three locations listed below, and all are welcome to attend.
