Review of Mayo County Development Plan 2008-2014
Mayo County Council has commenced the review of the Mayo County Development Plan 2008-2014 and the preparation of a new County Development Plan for the period 2014-2020. The development plan sets out a framework for the proper planning and sustainable development of the County. The process consists of three to four stages - pre-draft, draft, amendments (not always) and adoption - and it takes up to two years to complete the process. Public consultation is an important element of the plan making process. Currently the Council are at the pre-draft stage and are inviting written submissions. Pre-draft public meeting were held in the Mayo County Council Offices in Ballina, Westport and Castlebar between the 1st May to 3rd Mayo 2012. Copy of presentation can be downloaded below.
