Draft Mayo County Development Plan 2014-2020

Mayo County Council has prepared the Draft Mayo County Development Plan 2014-2020. The Draft Plan is in 2 Volumes.

Volume 1 consists of a Written Statement and includes AREA PLANS(with Land Use Zoning and Objectives Maps) for the towns of BALLINROBE, BELLMULLET, BALLYHAUNIS, CLAREMORRIS, CHARLESTOWN, KILTIMAGH, KILLALA, KNOCK, LOUISBURGH, NEWPORT and SWINFORD.

Volume 2 consists of Planning Guidance and Standards for Development in Co. Mayo.

The Draft Plan is accompanied by a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Environmental Report, Habitats Directive Assessment (HDA) Natura Impact Report and Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA).

The Draft Plan is available for inspection from Thursday 14th March 2013 to Friday 24th May 2013 inclusive. Any Submissions or Observations should be recieved not later than 5pm Friday 24th May 2013.

Forward Planning Updates

IRELAND WEST AIRPORT KNOCK - STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT ZONE

In accordance with the provisions of Section 169 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 – 2019, the documents below are required to be kept  on public display for a period of at least 6 weeks from Wednesday 29th May 2019.

Written submissions/observations should be clearly marked,

“Ireland West Airport Knock SDZ” and sent to the Forward Planning Section, Mayo County Council, Aras an Chontae, Castlebar, Co. Mayo. F23 WF90, or they can be emailed to iwaksdz@mayococo.ie 

The closing date for submissions or observations is

Friday 12th July 2019 at 4.pm.


Mayo County Development Plan Review Process is paused until after the Regional Spatial & Economic Strategy (RSES) is published.

The RSES is due to be published in early 2019, please check back then for further updates on the preparation of the County Development Plan.
