Renewable Energy Strategy

As a first step in the preparation of the Council’s Renewable Energy Strategy, Mayo County Council has prepared a Discussion Paper on Renewable Energy.

It is intended that the Renewable Energy Strategy will be seen as a model of good planning and management practice, enhancing the development of  renewable energy both in the County and further afield.

The  Discussion Paper will be available for inspection from the 16th March, 2010 to the 19th of April, 2010 at  Aras an Chontae, Castlebar, the Area Offices at Claremorris, Swinford, Ballinrobe & Belmullet and at Ballina, Castlebar and Westport Civic Offices, from 9.00am-1.00pm and 2.00-5.00pm, Monday to Friday, at all Mayo branch libraries, during normal library opening hours, and on www.mayococo.ie/planning /renewable energy strategy.

Mayo County Council is seeking submissions from the public on issues and questions that you consider should be addressed in the Mayo Renewable Energy Strategy.

Written submissions should be forwarded to Wayne Lynch, Forward Planning Section, Mayo County Council, Aras an Chontae, Castlebar, Co Mayo, by or by e-mail to la21@mayococo.ie

Closing date for submissions is Monday 19th April 2010.
