Pursuant to Section 20 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended, Mayo County Council herby gives notice that it proposes to make a Local Area Plan for Ireland West Airport Knock. Accordingly, an Ireland West Airport Knock Draft Local Area Plan 2012-2018 has been prepared.
In accordance with the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004-2011, Mayo County Council has prepared an environmental report of the likely significant effects on the environment of implementing the Draft Local Area Plan and has also undertaken a Habitats Directive Assessment (HDA) in accordance with Part XAB of the Planning and Development Act 2000-2010 and a Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) in accordance with guidance document “The Planning System and Flood Risk Management: Guidelines for Planning Authorities”.
A copy of the Ireland West Airport Knock Draft Local Area Plan 2012-2018, the SEA Environmental Report, HDA and SFRA may be inspected during normal opening hours from Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays) within the period from:
Friday 23rd March 2012 to Tuesday 8th May 2012 (inclusive)
at the following locations:
- Mayo County Council, Swinford Area Office,Station Road, Swinford.
- Mayo County Council, Planning Section,Arasan Chontae, The Mall, Castlebar.
The Draft Local Area Plan, SEA Environment Report, HDA and SFRA are also available to download from Mayo County Council website www.mayococo.ie
Submissions or observations in respect of the Ireland West Airport Knock Draft Local Area Plan 2012-2018, the Environmental Report, HDA and SFRA made to the Planning Authority within the period specified above will be taken into consideration in deciding upon the proposal. Children, or groups or associations representing the interests of children are entitled to make submissions or observations and any such submissions or observations received will be taken into consideration in deciding upon the proposal.
All submissions or observations should be made in writing, clearly marked “Ireland West Airport Knock Draft Local Area Plan” and forwarded to:
