Mayo County Council Music Recording Assistance Award 2005

Mayo County Council is inviting applications for the Music Recording Assistance Award. The recipients of this award will receive up to €800 towards an original music recording. The award is aimed at singers and musicians wishing to produce a good quality demo recording to send to record companies, management agencies etc. The award is geared towards assisting with the costs of the recoding. The award is for new recordings only. No completed and packages CDs can be funded. Only work in progress will be considered.

There will be up to a maximum of 4 awards made, and the amount awarded will be decided by an independent expert assessment panel.

To apply, send a written application outlining what the money would be spent on, together with a CV of musical career/ experience, a copy of the recording on tape or CD (the quality does not have to be pristine, just as long as the music can be heard clearly), and a lyric sheet if relevant, to:

Applications will be assessed by an independent and impartial panel of music industry professionals and the closing date for receipt of applications is Wednesday 9^th November 2005.

Applicants will be notified of the success or otherwise by mid-December.

The award is open to all forms of Music.
