Mayo County Council invites submissions for a public art commission associated with the N5 Charlestown Bypass. The project is being commissioned by Mayo County Council on behalf of the National Roads Authority, and funded by the Department of Transport under the percent for art scheme.
Please find via this website (see below) a full Artist’s Brief for the Public Art Project (Word; 81kb), including information regarding accessing further historical information about the town and photographic archives from Charlestown. Eight possible locations have been identified for the artwork/s and maps are also available via this link showing the location of each site and also accompanying film footage of each proposed site location.
Please note, only applicants who have already registered their interest in this project and have a registration number, issued to them from the Arts Office are eligible to apply. Deadline for 1st Stage proposal applications: Friday 2nd November 2007
