Amateur Drama Award & Music Recording Assistance Awards 2011 - Recipients
Mayo County Council are delighted to announce the recipients of this years Amateur Drama Award and Music Recording Assistance Awards.
Amateur Drama Award
Parke Drama Group has been awarded the Mayo County Council Amateur Drama Award for 2011, following assessment by external, independent expertise.
Parke Drama Group has had three tremendously successful productions having staged superb comedies over the last 3 years – ‘Pretend Sick’, ‘A Wake in the West’ and ‘Cupid Wore Skirts’. The group are currently rehearsing their next production – a wonderful 3 Act Comedy - ‘Fortunes & Misfortunes’ by playwright Jimmy Keary from Westmeath.
Mayo Arts Office would like to take this opportunity to wish Parke Drama Group the very best of luck in all future endeavours.
Mayo County Council Amateur drama awards are assessed by an on the following criteria: innovation; development of excellence; quality and creativity. All Amateur Drama groups based in the county are eligible to apply for the award.
Music Recording Assistance Awards
Mayo County Council Arts Office has awarded two Music Recording Assistance Awards. Congratulations to Mayo Singer/Songwriters Lydia Forde and Rachel Lyons who were the recipients of this years Awards. BothLydiaand Rachel will receive € 800 each which will go towards the musicians making an original recording.
The Awards were assessed by an expert independent panel, who were very impressed with the standard of applications.
Mayo County Council Arts Office would like to thank those who applied and wish the recipients of the award the best in their future careers.
