The Custom House Studios are now inviting  submissions  for exhibitions and use of studio space for 2009 and 2010.  Custom House Studios are currently constructing an extension and renovations –  set  to reopen March 2009. The Studios complex  houses 7 artists studios, gallery and a print studio. These facilities are housed in a historic restored Customs House building on the Quay in Westport, on a prominent redeveloped waterfront street.

Studios.

The studios are located up stairs overlooking the harbour.  All studios have daylight  and 24hour access.  One studio is available for shorter stays. 

 Gallery.

The gallery is located on street level and enjoys a high visitor numbers. There is a full programme of exhibitions.

Applications are now invited for;

 1.     Artists are now invited to submit proposals for year long use of  studios in the years 2009 and 2010.

2.   Artists are now invited to submit proposals for short term use of studios during 2009 and 2010.

3.   Artists are now invited to submit proposals for exhibitions at Custom House Studios gallery  during  2009  and  2010.

411 GALLERIES CHINA

 Call for Interest

In order to proceed with a grant award the 411 Galleries has been requested to ask artists to send an "Intent to submit" email from interested artists. The 411 Galleries is garnering support for this exhibition from all interested artists. The exhibition in question is provisionally called "Drawing Eire" and is intended to be an exhibition of drawing in all media by Irish artists. The 411 Galleries will accept original drawings only for this exhibitions and all successful submissions will be included in the catalogue. This years catalogue will be quite different than previous years and will be a 50 ft. long pull out poster where all the work will be displayed on one side. This poster catalogue will also be produced in much larger numbers than in previous years as the intention is to give as many people the opportunity to own a catalogue.

 The first exhibition will be held in Shanghai during Ireland Week on the occasion of St Patrick's Day and will be an important part of the celebration.The exhibition will laso be held in a second venue in Shanghai later in the year. Later the exhibition will travel to Beijing for two weeks and then on to Hangzhou.

 At present the 411 Galleries would like to hear from any artist that would intend to submit for this project.
