CULTURE IRELAND FUNDING: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

Culture Ireland aims to promote and advance Irish arts in a global context by helping to create international opportunities for Irish artists and cultural practitioners with a view to creating a deeper mutual understanding between Ireland and other cultures and communities.Culture Ireland's principal funding scheme is designed to support the presentation and promotion of Irish arts internationally.

The next deadline for Culture Ireland funding applications for projects and events taking place from November 2009 onwards is now approaching.

Deadline for Deis Recording Round: Friday 26 March, 2010

The Deis Recording Round was initiated by The Arts Council in 2009 in order to provide support for those wishing to undertake recording projects within the Traditional Arts.

Artist in the Community Scheme

Twice yearly, the Arts Council offers grants to enable artists and communities of place/or interest to work together on projects. The scheme, which is managed by Create, is open to artists from any of the following artform disciplines: architecture, circus, street art and spectacle, dance, film, literature (Irish and English language), music, opera, theatre, visual arts and traditional arts.The aim of the scheme is to encourage meaningful collaboration between communities of place and/or interest and artists. It is essential that   consultation take place between the artist and the community group, so that both parties are involved in deciding on the nature of the project realization

Small Arts Festivals Scheme

Deadline: Second Round - 5.30pm, 19 February for festivals having after 1 July to end of 2010

The Arts Council’s Small Arts Festivals Scheme is designed, in the main, to support and provide opportunities for small arts festivals or events happening throughout the country. Under the scheme, organisations may apply for funding up to a maximum of €20,000. As in previous years, the scheme is run in two rounds with closing dates to suit festivals taking place at different times of the year.

Last year, the scheme funded 169 small festivals to the value of €935,000.The application form and guidance notes for this scheme is available from: http://applications.artscouncil.ie/smallfestivals.
