Ealaín na Gaeltachta Funding for Gaeltact Arts Projects & Services

Ealaín na Gaeltachta welcome applications from groups or individuals who wish develop innovative arts projects or services within the Gaeltacht through the medium of Irish. For example: Artist led projects, residencies, commissions, community art, workshops, symposiums, exhibitions, productions etc..

Arts Council Bursary Award

Deadline for Bursary Award: 5:30pm, Thursday 21 January, 2010

The closing date for receipt of applications for the Bursary Award is 5:30pm on Thursday 21 January 2010, for applications where the main artform/arts practice of the proposed project is one of the following:

Architecture, Arts Participation, Dance, Film, Literature, Music, Theatre, Traditional Arts, Visual Arts, Young People, Children and Education

Applications can be made using the online application system or by completing a paper form. The Arts Council encourages all those with Internet access to apply using the online application process.  Applicants using the online system will have an additional week – up to Thursday 28 January 2010, 5:30pm – to provide supporting documentation for their application.

Please note:

whether applying online or using the paper form, all support materials must be sent in hardcopy format emailed or faxed applications and/or support materials are not acceptable

Failte Ireland - Festivals and Cultural Events Initiative 2010

National Festivals Programme

Applications for funding under the National Festivals Programmeare now being accepted. Application Forms and Guidelines are available at www.failteireland.ie/festivals. All applications must be made online. Regional Festivals Programme

Applications for funding under the Regional Festivals Programme will be invited in January 2010. Prospective applicants should refer to www.failteireland.ie/festivals for information on eligibility and evaluation criteria. The Initiative is intended to assist those festivals and events which effectively showcase Ireland's culture and heritage, to attract domestic and international tourists to the host locality.

Applicants should clearly demonstrate the following:

- Capacity and intention to promote themselves to the tourist market

- Ability to attract wider audiences in addition to their local market

- Financial and Environmental Sustainability

- Economic benefit for the host localities

- Assist in spreading tourism business around the country and outside of the peak season

Artist in the Community Scheme

Twice yearly, the Arts Council offers grants to enable artists and communities of place/or interest to work together on projects. The scheme, which is managed by Create, is open to artists from any of the following artform disciplines: architecture, circus, street art and spectacle, dance, film, literature (Irish and English language), music, opera, theatre, visual arts and traditional arts.The aim of the scheme is to encourage meaningful collaboration between communities of place and/or interest and artists. It is essential that consultation take place between the artist and the community group, so that both parties are involved in deciding on the nature of the project realization.
