PUBLIC ART IN THE COMMUNITY PROGRAMME SEEKS ARTISTS

Upper Springfield Development Company's Public Art in the Community Programme currently has short-term vacancies for 3 artists to work with the community and 3 artists to work in the public realm. All artists must have a minimum of 2 years experience and wide ranging skills to deliver workshops and produce public art. They particularly welcome applications from artists with disabilities.

NEWCASTLE WEST COMMUNITY COUNCIL COMMISSION: CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Newcastle West Community Council in Co. Limerick wish to commission a Public Art Sculpture that will honour the memory and literary legacy of the poet Michael Hartnett. The sculpture will be in bronze, stone or other media suitable for an exterior location in the town of Newcastle West. Proposals are invited from professional artists.

HEALTH SERVICE EXECUTIVE PUBLIC ART COMMISSION: CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

The HSE invites submissions under the PerCent for Art Scheme for artworks for the new Cardiac Renal Centre at Cork University Hospital. The artwork(s) may be of any discipline, design or media and the total budget to cover all costs associated with the artwork(s) is circa €62,000.

The competition for the artwork(s) will be a two stage process. Stage 1 will require outline concept proposals and Stage 2 will require detailed proposals from those artists who are shortlisted. A site visit will be arranged for artists interested in submitting for competition. Artists should register with the undersigned if they wish to attend the site visit by Wednesday 10 March 2010.

Loreto Primary School, Gorey - Per Cent for Art Commission Call

Loreto Primary School, Gorey, wishes to invite submissions from an artist or artists for a work of visual art, funded through the Per Cent for Art Scheme. The commissioners are particularly interested in receiving proposals from artists who will provide a work of visual art, either 2d or 3d, that will be stimulating, fun, exciting, promotes enquiry and intrigue and possibly incorporates an element of functionality. 

The budget for the design, supply and fixture of this project is €34,200 inclusive of all costs, expenses, VAT, insurance and other charges.

Artists will be shortlisted and selected through a two stage open competition process.

An element of background research will be needed to inform artists’ proposals.

‘Building Bridges’ Bailieborough 400 Project

Bailieborough Development Association calls for tenders from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to facilitate a series of cross community initiatives that deliver our primary objective of partnership within the community and with our partners through a series of educational, community, cultural and arts initiatives.

Ideal Candidate (s)

The Ideal Candidate (s) /Company will have ability to work in community and educational settings.   They will be competent in the use of IT to integrate the schools initiative in the 6 partner schools.   They will guide the young people and their school communities through an exploration of culture and heritage.   The outcome of this exploration will form the basis of a pageant or showcase of the young people’s interpretation of their cultural experience. It is envisaged that this pageant will be performed locally and possibly in our partner community.   The pageant will possibly explore through IT, from amongst the common themes of history, history, music, arts, drama, storytelling, customs, cures and sports.

RATHLIN ISLAND HARBOUR & BALLYCASTLE SEAFRONT COMMISSION: CALL

Moyle District Council wish to appoint an artist to design and arrange the production, delivery and installation of one piece of public art at Ballycastle Harbour and one piece of public art at Rathlin Island Harbour, Ballycastle. It is anticipated that this project will be completed by January 2011.

The budget for the project is GBP100,000.

Artists wishing to participate in the contest must submit a Pre-Qualification Response document. The selection of min. five and max. eight artists will be invited to prepare concept sketch designs on the basis of the information given in this document.
