Puppet State Theatre Company - The Man Who Planted Trees
This beautiful and engaging blend of comedy, puppetry and inspiring storytelling tells the story of a French shepherd who sets out with his dog to plant a forest and transform a barren wasteland, in this multi-sensory theatrical adaptation of Jean Giono's environmentally aware classic. As much a touching tale as it is a hilarious puppet show, The Man Who Planted Trees shows us the difference one man (and his dog!) can make to the world. Suitable for 7yrs+ and families.

Premier Screening: Mise Raiftearaí an Fíodóir Focal
This screening comes before the TG4 airing on Christmas Day of the drama/documentary on the life and times of legendary Mayo poet, Anthony Raftery, to mark the 175th anniversary of his death. Shot on location in Brooklyn, upstate New York, Mayo and Galway, the film was written and presented by Tadhg Mac Dhonnegáin, and directed by Seán O’Cualáin. Sónta Production Company, Connemara is supported also by the B.C.I. for this TG4 commission.
The screening will take place at 8pm in the Town Hall Theatre and will be followed by the official launch in the Cill Aodain hotel, hosted by Colette Nic Aodha. Music on the night will be provided by Ollie Burke, and the Claire Sanders duet.Thursday, November 11th 2010
The two readings this night will be from Noel King and Terry McDonagh with music provided by Graham Mace. Venue to be confirmed. Noel will be launching his new book, ‘Prophesying the Past’ on the night.

Book launch with Basil Burke in the Park Hotel from 7pm – 9.30pm. This is the third volume in Basil’s collection and is appropriately titled ‘Kiltimagh Remembered, volume 3.
