INTRODUCTION TO STAGE LIGHTING with Oisín Herraghty

Five Saturdays 3.30-5.00pm commencing 18th September                                                                                            Following the popularity of this workshop last Spring, we are offering it again for all those who didn’t get a place on the Spring workshop. This workshop series offers participants an introduction to stage lighting, starting with the basic stage lights and gels. You’ll learn how to wash a stage in colour and get a basic introduction to lighting design. Oisín will guide you through the basics of lighting control from dimmer boards to intelligent lights. Throughout the workshops you’ll also be receiving tips on health and safety in relation to the stage lighting context. Lights are a huge part of every stage production. Prepare yourself for an insight into the world of a stage lighting technician.

Oisín Herraghty has many years experience in stage lighting. He started at a young age with the simple but important task of "footing the ladder", and has since reached lofty heights of award winning lighting designer. His lighting credits include musicals, pantos and stage performances too numerous to mention and all the productions of DoYouPlayhouse. He is a key member of staff at the Linenhall Arts Centre.

INTRODUCTION TO STAGE LIGHTING takes place over five Saturdays from 3.30pm to 5.00pm 18th and 25th September, and 2nd, 9th and 16th October. Cost for the five sessions is €60 per person. Places are limited, and booking is ESSENTIAL. Booking and further information from the Linenhall.
