A Christmas Cracker by Candlelight

Children’s Christmas Storytelling

Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th December 2011

A magical children’s event comes to the Joe Keane Creative Centre Killala on 10th and 11th December 2011.

Children will be treated to the delights of traditional Christmas literature over two days. For the little ones, a reading of the Raymond Briggs classic The Snowman, will take them on a magical journey with James and his icy friend.  For the older groups what better than Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol, probably the most popular of all Christmas stories. Here they can listen to the wonderfully descriptive language as they learn the fate of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge.

In these days of internet and play station, these workshops give children an opportunity to experience the joy and magic of literature in a safe and gentle environment. They also include face painting, a good old fashioned sing-a-long and conclude with an animated version of each story. Duration of each workshop is two and a half hours a great opportunity for Mam and Dad to get some Christmas shopping done in peace or just grab some much needed down time!

Workshops take place at the Joe Keane Creative Centre, Killala as follows:

  • Saturday 10th December and Sunday 11th December
  • 5-8 year olds 10am -12.30pm each day
  • 9-11 year olds 2pm-4.30pm each day

Tickets: 10 Euro – Booking is essential as places are limited.

Please note:  age groups are given as a guideline but are not restrictive.
