Ballina Film Club Open Meeting

Ballina Arts Centre is currently evaluating how film is presented at the venue. For the past nine years, Ballina Film Club has formed the backbone of the film programme at the venue – showing two seasons’ of film (in Spring and Autumn/Winter).

This has been augmented by other events throughout the year, such as Sound+Vision: Ballina Film Festival and Ballina Film Club presents… (which recently celebrated the twisted genius of David Lynch).

In order to move the Ballina Film Club seasonal programmes forward, Ballina Arts Centre is looking for new members to form a committee which will drive the club, and develop a significant audience for cultural film in the North Mayo area.

Sean Walsh, Director of Ballina Arts Centre, and Maeve Cooke, Director of access>CINEMA (the Federation of Irish Film Societies) will host this open meeting, which is open to anybody with an interest in film.

This is an important opportunity to have a say in how film will be presented at the venue.
