Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council invites proposals for a performing arts commission focusing on the exploration of sensory disabilities. The commission is open to either individuals or companies/collaborators to apply. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will work collaboratively
with groups(s) of people with sensory disabilities in the Stillorgan electoral area of the county.
Prior to the submission deadline, the Arts Office will facilitate a group meeting for prospective applicants to meet with a number of organisations in the area who would be interested in working with the successful applicant on this commission.
DLR is particularly interested in practitioners who work in a collaborative manner (either on a conceptual level or directly through participation), are flexible in their approach and responsive to the needs of those involved .
The budget for the commission is €14,000 inclusive.
Cavan Town Council Public Art
Cavan Town Council requests submissions for a work of public art celebrating the history of Cavan Town Council.
Background/history
The Municipal government structure in Cavan since 1610 and Cavan Urban District Council (now Cavan Town Council) was formally established in 1898 under the Local Government Ireland Act. There are nine elected representatives who currently serve on Cavan Town Council which will be dissolved after the 2014 Local Election. The artwork might reflect the history, achievements, contribution of the Council to the social, economic and cultural development of the town and its environs.
Budget:
The overall value of the commission is €12,000 excluding site works which the Council will provide but the artist is expected to identify likely cost/value for this input.
The artist will provide a budget for the design, supply and fix for this project inclusive of all costs, expenses, VAT and other charges necessary for completion of the project.
All costs are to be included as part of the budget, e.g.
• VAT
• insurance
• research and development
• materials and fabrication
• engineering design (if appropriate)
• transportation, installation & erection
• health and safety considerations
• any other costs and charges necessary to install & complete the artwork project
The Art Work
The artwork must be of the highest standard and should be permanent, robust and low maintenance.
The artwork should be specific and appropriate to the location adjacent to Cavan Town Hall.
The artwork will be inspired by the history and legacy of service provision by Cavan Town Council. The artwork might reflect the history, achievements, contribution of the Council to the social, economic and cultural development of the town and its environs.
Account must be taken of current Health and Safety Regulations.
Scoring Criteria:
1. A completed proposal with all details requested in the Artists’ Submission
2. Quality of the artistic proposal
3. Ability to deliver effectively within the timeframe identified
4. Value for money
5. Appropriateness of proposal

UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL LIMERICK: PER CENT FOR ART SCHEME – INVITATION TO TENDER
University Hospital Limerick, Dooradoyle is being transformed into a major university hospital and the major acute centre for the mid-west region with significant capital developments being progressed at the site.
The HSE is now inviting Artists to tender for the provision of original art work(s) for public display at the main entrance internal roundabout at the Hospital, under the terms of the Government ”Per Cent for Art Scheme”.
The available funding is €51,000.
Please note the HSE is not obliged to accept any proposal submitted and should the standard of work or insurance or proposals be deemed unacceptable then no art work commission may be awarded.
The deadline for receipt of proposals is by 3pm on Friday 16th May 2014.

Killeeshil & Clonaneese Historical Society: Building Peace through the Arts – Re-Imaging Communities
The Killeeshil and Clonaneese Historical Society wishes to recruit an experienced artist / facilitator to carry out community consultation and creative engagement.
The Historical Society has secured a lease from Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council for the old Tourist Information Centre at Killymaddy. The site is at the centre of the Roman Catholic Parish of Killeshil and the Presbyterian Congregational Area of Clonaneese. It is now the only community facility in this rural area not owned by the Roman Catholic Church, Presbyterian Church or the GAA. The Historical Society would like to make a strong public statement that the new Killymaddy Centre is a valued shared facility for both communities.
We welcome bids from collaborating artists and peace building facilitators.
THIS WORK IS PART OF THE FIRST STAGE OF A PUBLIC ART PROJECT. THE OUTCOME WILL BE A REPORT COLLATING INFORMATION FOR INCLUSION IN THE BRIEF FOR A NEW PUBLIC ARTWORK.

Public Art Commission: The Giant’s Lair, Ireland Largest Children’s Story Park
CALL FOR ARTISTS:
The Giant’s Lair, Ireland largest Children’s Story Park.
Located at: Slieve Gullion Forest Park, Newry
Sticky Fingers, Ireland’s leading arts organisation for young children in collaboration with Newry and Mourne District Council, is seeking to commission a range of high quality, permanent, innovative and original works inspired by the legends, folklore and children’s interpretations of the mythical history of the Slieve Gullion area.
The successful artists will be required to undertake a period of working with local children who are acting as the consultants on this unique project, which will result in creating a signature children’s art park for Northern Ireland.
Sticky Fingers are currently inviting expressions of interest from visuals artists and landscape artists working in the public realm for this exciting art project.
We are currently seeking to recruit artists for six separate commissions. It is anticipated that the six commissions will be awarded to different artists to reflect different styles and approaches used to result in a unique children’s creative play experience.
Budget range from £30,000 for each large-scale artwork and £6,000 for each small-scale art works.
