An Ordinary Man

by John McDwyer - BeezNeez Theatre Company

Thursday 18th September, 8pm

An Ordinary Man, written and directed by John McDwyer, features Gerry Farrell in the lead role, playing a myriad of characters from missionary priests to cynical teachers to  mad football trainers in a journey of delicious delight.
Funny and heart-breaking in equal measure; An Ordinary Man takes us on the life journey of a simple sawyer through births, deaths and marriages with a bit of football and ballroom dancing thrown in just for craic until, ultimately, we realise that while there may be an ordinary man, there is no such thing as an ordinary life. An Ordinary Man will live long in the memory of anyone lucky enough to catch this show.

Beezneez, by way of thanking patrons for their support over the last seventeen years, has made this ‘The Tenner a Ticket Tour’.

Half Solid Productions - The Pull

The Pull is the first comedy show from Half Solid Productions, a company established by Mayo writers and actors Liam Horan and John Corless. The Pull is a lively comedy based on an“unreal real event that may or not have taken place in rural Ireland.” The play is set in the fictional town of Ballybore, where, bizarrely, the local GAA club claims to pre-date the foundation of the GAA by some 130 years. Ballybore GAA club embarks on a fundraising truck pull around the town in an attempt to get themselves out of debt and to undo the bad feeling towards the club in the community, offering a humorous look at the way community works in Ireland along the way. Liam is a former Gaelic games correspondent of the Irish Independent, and creator of the popular Championship Man series on RTE Radio One. John is a well-known poet who has performed a number of readings in this region. Suitable for all ages, The Pull promises a great night of fun that keeps it country.
