Mayo Youth Theatre Facilitator

Mayo County Council Arts Office is seeking a person for the provision of service as a Youth Theatre Facilitator for Mayo Youth Theatre, Ballina.

Mayo Youth Theatre (MYT):

MYT is an initiative of Mayo County Council, set up in 1999. It aims to provide access to drama for young people aged between 14 and 22, by promoting, developing and supporting high quality youth theatre, with an emphasis on the attainment of artistic excellence and on personal and social development.

During the school year, once a week, the group meet for two hours in planned workshops provided by the youth theatre facilitator. Occasionally experts in a particular field are invited to provide specialist workshops, for example, during Mayo County Council Arts Office’ Excel Youth Arts programme.  The workshops take place in Ballina Arts Centre.  Around Easter there is an annual production. In total twenty six workshop sessions take place with up to ten extra sessions prior to a production. 

Mayo Youth Theatre Facilitator’s Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate a programme of drama/theatre workshops
  • Facilitate an annual drama production in Ballina Arts Centre
  • Co-ordinate and manage all activities in relation to the Youth theatre including the development and implementation of policies and procedures in conjunction with Arts Office Mayo County Council.
  • In conjunction with Arts Office Mayo County Council, provide leadership and strategic direction in relation to furthering the artistic vision of the youth theatre

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of two years work experience in professional theatre/drama
  • Relevant experience of designing, delivering and leading youth theatre workshops
  • Commitment and passion to youth arts and youth theatre
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with and inspire young people
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically
  • Ability to initiate projects and be self motivated
  • Knowledge and understanding of Child Protection policies and procedure
  • Garda Clearance Essential

The Linenhall is currently seeking applications for one position on a FÁS funded Community Employment Scheme which supports its Visual Art Programme for Schools.

Overall Purpose of the Quote:

The overall aim of the work is to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced organisation to evaluate the Harnessing Creativity Programme against the Letter of Offer Aims Objectives and Outputs and NISRA targets during the lifetime of the Programme, i.e. from 8th June 2012 to 30th June 2015.

Budget: The budget for this commission will not exceed €6,000 (inc VAT)

Culture Night/Play Day Kildare Coordinator | Contract for Services

Kildare County Council seek applications for the role of Culture Night/Play Day Coordinator.  This contract for services is a part time role, from February 2015 to September 2015. The total fee, including expenses is €5,000 depending on work start date and availability.


The Culture Night/Play Day coordinator will work closely with Kildare County Council Arts and Parks Services to programme events to take place on Friday 19th (Culture Night), Saturday 20th (Play Day) and Sunday 21st September 2015.

The Coordinator will have primary responsibility for:

  • Review of Culture Night/Play Day Kildare in 2014 and previous years
  • Strategic planning and development
  • Preparation of funding applications and financial management including reporting and evaluation
  • Delivering of the project within budget, on schedule and in line with key objectives;
  • Liaising with existing Culture Night /Play Day participants and seeking out new participants and programmes/events
  • Coordination of the Culture Night and Play Day participants and programme
  • Compiling an information brochure and other publicity materials
  • Marketing the event to a broad audience using traditional and new media;
  • Compliance with health & safety requirements, approval from relevant statutory agencies, contractual issues and legal matters;

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 2 yrs experience in project or event management;
  • Experience in financial control and managing budgets
  • Cultural and/or arts marketing experience;
  • Proven planning and administration skills;
  • Ability to cope with a variety of tasks at once, and work to tight schedules;
  • Proven understanding of Health and Safety regulations for events;
  • Excellent IT skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Experience of event evaluation and providing written reports;
  • Demonstrable working understanding of third-party contracts and agreements.

Desirable Skills

  • A working knowledge of the cultural and arts sector in Kildare
  • Experience of managing events;
  • Experience of creating opportunity and networking;

Request for Tender: Grangegorman Public Art Co-ordinator

The Grangegorman Development Agency (GDA) is seeking to appoint a Public Art Co-ordinator(s) to assist the Agency and the Public Arts Working Group (PAWG) in the delivery of various elements of Public Art for a 3-year period. The brief envisaged to guide the invited persons/agencies as to the role of the Public Art Co-ordinator, the context of the Grangegorman New Urban Quarter and the principle stakeholders involved in the project.

On appointment the Public Arts Co-ordinator will work together with the Public Arts Working Group to prepare a 3 year programme for the delivery of a range of different Public Arts works, events, or other initiatives that meet the criteria set out in the Grangegorman Arts Strategy (

The Public Arts Co-ordinator will manage the delivery of all aspects of the procurement, commissioning, installation, budget, programme and including supporting the artists with the experience and knowledge to realise these commissions for this significant project.

Banbridge Arts and Older People Project – Coordinator Required   Recently updated !

Launched in 2010, the Arts Council’s Arts and Older People Programme was established to increase opportunities for older people to engage with the arts. It achieved this by providing funding to arts based projects addressing related social justice issues such as:- poverty, isolation, loneliness and promoting positive mental health issues. Banbridge District Council has secured funding from the second round of the Arts Council NI Arts & Older People Programme 2013 – 2016.

Aim of Arts Council Programme:
The aim of this programme is to strengthen the voice of older people and promote positive mental health and emotional well –being through the arts.

Aim of Banbridge Programme:
The aim is to design, co-ordinate and implement an intergenerational arts based project called ‘Lives and Legacy’ based in 5 rural areas of Banbridge – Gilford, Lawrencetown, Rathfriland, Annaclone and Kinallen.

Main responsibilities of the co-ordinator are to co-ordinate all aspects of the project and administrative function relating to the project.
