Michael Joe Ginnelly (Author of A Wake In The West) introduces his new play where the big question is how far are you willing to go to hide the truth? For Tom Carmody (among others) there is no question, it’s all or nothing. The only problem is when nobody is clear on the story things can get a little complicated,which quickly catapults them into disastrous territory. From gossiping noisy neighbours, to funerals and weddings and more in between you will find that the truth will always out.

Country star Lisa McHugh will take to the stage at the Westport Town Hall on 26th February. Lisa McHugh is one of the few women in the Irish country music scene and she brings her lively and fun style of music, which is guaranteed to get fans to their feet for an amazing country dance night.

Fans can’t get enough of the female vocalist of the year, who has been packing dance floors around the country with her unique style of country music. Hailing from Glasgow and now residing in Co. Fermanagh, Lisa is winning the hearts of music fans everywhere.

After the success of her last album ‘Wildfire’, Lisa has been whipping up excitement amongst fans with her fifth studio album ‘#Country’ which has reached #3 in the Irish charts. Louise Morrissey in Concert

Louise Morrissey has long been regarded by folk and country music enthusiasts as one of Ireland’s vocal treasures. Louise will be joined by her brother Norman, who was an integral part of the folk group The Morrisseys. Following a nationwide sell out series of concerts last autumn the very popular duo are touring the country again performing in Theatres to very appreciative audiences.

Louise and Norman will reminisce about their days as The Morrisseys Folk Group who from the mid 70’s through to the late ’80 were highly regarded on both the national and international Folk Scene.  They will sing their many chart topping hits of the time “The Old Rustic Bridge by the Mill” “Come Back Paddy Reilly”, “Galtee Mountain Boy”, “Sweet Forget Me Not” “Slievenamon” and many more too numerous to mention.

Multi award winning Louise is one of Ireland’s best female singers and will enthral and delight with her captivating vocals as she sings from her vast repertoire of hits from her days with The Morrisseys right up to the present day.   Norman, considered one of the best interpreters of folk songs in the country will entertain with his humorous and witty recollections.  Their combined singing creates a magic that can only be found in close family harmonies.

Bagatelle completed their final year tour on Valentines Weekend 2016 with SOLD OUT gigs all across Ireland including Vicar Street Dublin, INEC Killarney, Monroes Galway, Belfast, Cork, Derry, Waterford and many more. Collecting several awards of recognition through the year including Multi Platinum Gold Discs, The Late Late Show Lifetime Achievement Award, Sunday World Entertainment Awards. Then, less than 3 months into retirement because of overwhelming response from their loyal audiences, and with a lot of pressure from their record company, they decided that they would not actually stop completely, as planned, but instead would play occasional gigs and would simply call them “ONE FOR THE ROAD”

Mayo County Council Arts Plan 2018 - 2022

Mayo County Council Arts Office is currently developing a new five-year strategic arts plan for the county, which will be produced early next year.

We are actively seeking the views of those involved and interested in the arts, at all levels, within the county. This includes arts venues, festivals, artists, communities and people who use, or who benefit from our service.
