Mayo County Council Tyrone Guthrie Regional Bursary Scheme 2011
Mayo County Council are offering two special bursary awards to artists born or living in Mayo, to enable them to spend two weeks at The Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig, County Monaghan. Each bursary covers all board and lodging expenses for a two-week period, plus the use of a studio if necessary.
There are a variety of workspaces available including studios, a music room for composers and musicians, and a large rehearsal and performance space.
The bursaries are open to practitioners in all artforms born or domiciled within County Mayo. There is no age limit.
Applicants should show significant achievement in their chosen field. This would normally mean that writers should already have published in book form, painters and sculptors should have had one-person shows in reputable galleries and that composers and musicians should have had their work commissioned, recorded or performed, or whatever might be appropriate to the particular artform. Otherwise the applicant must demonstrate a high degree of promise attested by references or other forms of support from established figures in the arts.

Foras na Gaeilge Funding Schemes
Foras na Gaeilge is accepting applications for the following schemes:
Youth Events Scheme
Aim: To support groups or individuals outside of the Gaeltacht to organise events through the medium of Irish, for young people, outside school hours between 1 September 2011 and 30 June 2012.
Support Available: up to €5,000 / £3,500 – to keep fees for young people to a minimum.
Target Group: i. Children between 3 and 16 years of age ii. Organisers – Irish teachers, voluntary workers
Status: Open - Closing date for applications: 5.00pm, Wednesday, 20 April 2011.
Music Network Performance and Touring Award
With funding from the Arts Council, the Performance and Touring Award was developed by Music Network, the national music development organisation, to assist Irish and Ireland-based musicians in realising performance opportunities. Closing dates for applications are Monday 14th February, 5pm and Monday 13th June, 5pm, 2011. The scheme is open to musicians and ensembles of all genres that are of Irish nationality or resident in Ireland.

European Cultural Foundation – Collaboration Grants

The Foundation has long facilitated people working collaboratively across Europe, and their grants are designed to support projects that bring a renewed understanding of Europe to people of all backgrounds. Wellcome Trust Arts Awards: Next Deadlines

The Wellcome Trust Arts Awards support imaginative and experimental arts projects that investigate biomedical science. All art forms are covered by the programme - dance, drama, performance arts, visual arts, music, film, craft, photography, creative writing or digital media - and the Trust invites applications for projects which engage adult audiences and / or young people. Applicants are usually affiliated to organisations, but can apply as individuals. Organisations might include: museums and other cultural attractions; arts agencies; production companies; arts venues; broadcast media; schools; local education authorities; universities and colleges; youth clubs; community groups; research institutes; the NHS; and science centres. There are Small Awards (up to and including £30,000) and Large awards (over £30,000). Arts Council Artist in the Community Scheme 2011
Managed by Create, the national development agency for collaborative arts
Twice yearly, the Arts Council offers grants to enable artists and communities of place/or interest to work collaboratively on arts projects. The scheme covers all art forms –architecture, circus, street art and spectacle, dance, film, literature (Irish and English language), music, opera, theatre, visual arts and traditional arts.The projects can take place in a diverse range of social and community contexts eg arts and health; arts in prisons; arts and older people; arts and cultural diversity.
There are two phases to the Scheme:
Phase One, Research & Development, is open to artists who wish to research and develop a project in a community context. Maximum time frame is 3 months. The maximum amount awarded in Phase One is €1,000.
Phase One, Research & Development/Mentoring is open to artists who wish to develop a community based project and who have identified an artist mentor they want to work with during the research and development phase. The maximum award is €1500, which includes E500 fee payable to the mentor.
Phase Two, Project Realisation, is open to communities of interest or place (or their representative organisations), planning a project of between 6 weeks and 5 months with a maximum award of €5000, and those who are planning a project of between 6 months and 9 months with a maximum award of €10,000.
The deadlines in 2011 are Monday 14 March 5pm and Monday 27 June 5pm.

Arts Council Deis Recording Award
The purpose of the Deis Recording Award is to provide support for traditional arts recording projects, or recording projects involving collaboration between the traditional arts and other art forms. Priority will be given to projects that demonstrate attention to artistic quality, innovation and significant benefit to the traditional arts community. The Deis Recording Award is open to individuals and organisations and the maximum award available is €10,000. Applications are now being accepted through the Arts Council's online services website. Applicants who have not previously used this system must register in advance of making an application. It is recommended that applicants allow five days for registration prior to making an application. The closing date for the Deis Recording Award is 8th April 2011 at 5:30pm.

Arts Council Deis Award
The Deis Award provides support for traditional arts projects, or projects involving collaboration between the traditional arts and other artforms. Deis supports one-off or short-term projects only and other funding will not be granted under the scheme. Proposals are accepted from all areas in the traditional arts (traditional music, song, dance and oral artforms such as storytelling and agallamh beirte) and priority will be given to projects that demonstrate attention to artistic quality, innovation and significant benefit to the traditional arts community. Deis proposals are currently accepted on a rolling basis, submitted at least twelve weeks before the project is due to start. From 15th April onwards, the award will operate with a series of specific deadlines for applications throughout the year. The next application deadline is 9th June 2011 (for activities is due to commence on or before 21st October 2011).

Sligo County Council Arts Service 2011 Arts Grants and Bursaries Scheme
Sligo Arts Service calls for imaginative and innovative proposals that develop individual artforms and community arts practice under the following funding schemes. The Arts Grant Scheme supports activities by individual artists and groups to pursue innovative or developmental projects taking place July 2011 to July 2012 that will enhance access to the arts throughout County Sligo. The Individual Artist Bursary Scheme supports professional artists in the development of their arts practice to buy time, space and freedom to concentrate on a new body of work. Artist in Youth Work Residency Scheme: Call for Applications Opens 15thApril 2011
Alongside the launch of our summer school on the 15thApril, we will be announcing a call for applications for a second round of the 2011 Artist in Youth Work Residency Scheme.
The Artist in Youth Work Residency Scheme offers grants to youth arts organisations or youth work organisations working in an arts context, who would like to engage with a professional artist. The aim of the scheme is to encourage artistic collaboration between professional artists and young people. Young people will have the opportunity to work with and learn from practitioners of excellence in their field. Equally, artists will have the opportunity to enrich their own professional practice through the contextual experience of working with young people. There are two awards under this scheme, The Artist in Residency award and the Youth Arts Development award. Grants of up to €5,000 are awarded to organisations following the application procedure.

Arts Council: Touring and Dissemination of Work Scheme
As part of the ongoing implementation of its Touring Policy, the Arts Council is further developing a scheme to support the touring and dissemination of work in a broad range of artforms. Following on from the 2010 scheme, which offered c. €1m in support of tours taking place throughout 2011, the initiative is now being extended.
Each year, commencing in 2011, applications will be received on two deadlines falling in April/May and October. Building on the audience focused approach that characterises the Touring Policy, the expanded scheme is designed to support genuine collaboration between those who produce work and wish to tour and the presenting venue or local promoter. The deadline for Round 1 of the 2011 Medium Term Planning strand of the scheme, primarily intended to contribute towards the costs of tours planned to be on the road during the period August 2011 - June 2012, is 5:30pm, Thursday 5 May 2011. Arts Council Young Ensembles Scheme 2011: Call for Applications
Applications are invited for activities beginning between 1 July and 31 December 2011 and completed by 30 June 2012.
The primary purpose of this award is to support groups of young people between the ages of 12 and 23 to create ambitious and original work together in any artform (e.g: circus, dance, digital media, film, music, theatre, literature, visual arts, or any combination of the above). Groups/ensembles must be made up of 3 or more members.The maximum award available is €10,000.
