Exhibiting at Turn-berlin
Turn-berlin is an artist funded space, with a large gallery in the middle of the biggest concentration of art in Europe. We are working to find the most effective ways of progressing an artists name and reputation. By introducing a more integrated approach we can be more effective and develop wider opportunities.
The intense experience of showing work in a gallery is the best way to have work seen. To get the most from exhibiting which can be a relatively short event, to include it as part of a comprehensive package gives more considered exposure. Developing a name is the only way forward, it takes time and a lot of determination. This is why many artists are finding new ways of being seen. If you don’t exhibit you are only doing half of the job, but taking a positive approach to exhibiting should include other forms.
We are now big enough to be a representational gallery offering a full promotional package. More information on turn-berlin’s long term approach to developing artists is on the following link: http://turn-berlin.de/application/index.html

Faber Studios: re-possession – Call for Stories
Faber Studios ( Caelan Bristow, Marie Connole and Aaron Lawless) has proposed the project re-possession, a multi-part work that addresses the idea of object identity, particularly the stolen or confiscated objects that are found in the Lost & Found storage of Garda Stations, train and bus stations, airports and other public institutions. The project structure parallels the archetypal story of tragedy leading to recovery and growth. Re-possession explores the psychological impact of loss through personal stories (tragedy), the methodical documentation of objects (taking inventory), and the rehabilitation of the object by the craftsperson (resurrection). Re-possession promotes the value of reuse and a culture of exchange in the community. In the first part of the project, we are collecting stories about people’s experience of loss or theft. Please contact us with your stories by email or post. Audio recordings are very welcome. Deadline is ongoing. During the course of ev+a International, we will be giving any collected objects new life by re-imagining and recreating them in an ongoing workshop space in our studio. Please let us know if you would like to participate in these workshops. The primary concern of Re-possession is to promote the value of reuse and the culture of exchange in the community.
