A high quality Environment is essential for a good quality of life and is a key component of sustainable development. Mayo County Council places a high emphasis on increasing Environmental Awareness and promoting behavioural changes to foster that quality. The Environment Section in Mayo County Council is tasked with the enforcement of environmental legislation, the implementation of EU directives and regulations, national and regional policies and the raising of awareness of environmental issues with the general public.
