School's Education Programmes
Mayo County Council runs various environmental programmes with our schools and all schools are invited to participate. An annual Tidy Schools Competition is run as well as other competitions such as the "Race against waste" Christmas decoration competition. The Environment Awareness Officer is available to visit primary and secondary schools to offer advice on environment issues and in particular issues relating to waste and litter.
The Environment Awareness Officer is also available to offer information and advice to pre-schools and those operating childcare facilities. All primary and secondary schools are invited to register for the Green School's Programme.
