Blue Flag Beaches Photography Competition 2010


Mayo County Council invites entries in our Blue Flag Beach Photography Competition with a Beach/Coastal Theme to promote Awareness of the Blue Flag Beach Campaign in Ireland and in particular throughout Co Mayo. 

The Beaches in Mayo which achieved Blue Flag Status in 2009 are Carrowmore, Old Head, Bertra, Ross, Mulranny, Dooega, Dugort, Keel, Keem, Golden Strand, Elly Bay, Mullaghroe and Clare Island.  The 2010 Blue Flag Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Dublin on June 14th 2010.

The following are the categories under which entries should be submitted;

  1. Primary School Students
  2. Secondary School Students
  3. General Public only

(Pictures taken must be at one of Mayo’s Blue Flag Beaches)

Prizes will be awarded for the best entries.

Application forms are available from the Blue Flag Beach Section, Westport Civic Offices, Mayo County Council, Altamont Street, Westport, Co. Mayo; Telephone Number 098 50400.   Alternatively, you can download a copy of the application from our website. Entries together with original photographs marked “Blue Flag Beach Photography Competition” should be forward to Westport Civic Office by Friday 10th September, 2010.
