Castlebar Swimming Pool
Overview
County Mayo has a number of recreation and amenity facilities available for the enjoyment of residents and visitors to Mayo.
Swimming Pools
In addition to several private recreation centres, Mayo County Council supports three swimming pools and a Leisure Centre. These are located at:
- Ballina (Swimming Pool)
- Castlebar (Swimming Pool)
- Claremorris (Swimming Pool, Gym & Sauna)
- Westport (Leisure Centre)
Beaches
Mayo currently has 11 Blue Flag Beaches in addition to a number of beautiful, but not-designated, beaches and piers for fishing and leisure. A number of these beaches are staffed with lifeguards during the summer months.
Parks
Mayo County Council and the three Town Councils maintain a number of green spaces and parks around the county. In addition, there are several parks and greenbelts available for public use.
Burial Grounds
Mayo County Council also maintains most of the burial grounds facilities in the county.
