Applications Invited

Date:06 December 2018

Mayo County Council wishes to invite applications under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2019 (BHIS). BHIS 2019 is for the repair and conservation of structures that are protected under the Planning and Development Acts. This Scheme aims to support a significant number of labour-intensive, small-scale conservation projects across the country and to support the employment of skilled and experienced conservation professionals, craftspeople and tradespersons in the repair of the historic built environment.

Only one application will be considered per historic structure. Multiple applications for the same structure under different streams of the Built Heritage Investment Scheme will not be considered.

The Architectural Conservation Office of Mayo County Council will administer the scheme and applications can be lodged for grants of between €2,500 up to a maximum of  €15,000, with applicants required to provide a minimum of 50% of total costs. Applicants should read the guidelines and be familiar with the qualifying criteria and conditions of the scheme and must include photographs in their application.

All applicants must complete BHIS_2019 Appendix II Application Form A and submit it, with supporting documentation (incl. photographs), in hard copy only by 4pm on Thursday 31st January 2019. Emailed applications will not be accepted.

Applications should be marked Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2019 and  addressed to Siobhán Sexton, Architectural Conservation Officer, Architects Department, Mayo County Council, Áras an Chontae, Castlebar.
