Cong Village Design Statement

Mayo County Council, in partnership with the community of Cong, and with support from The Heritage Council, is preparing a Village Design Statement for Cong Village.

Village Design Statements rely on input from local communities to:

  • identify the local distinctive character of the village and surrounding countryside
  • provide design guidance for new development

All individuals, organisations and stakeholders in the community of Cong were invited to participate in a Village Character Workshop, which was held in Ryan's Hotel on Wednesday 11th July 2012. Topics covered in the Workshop included:

  • What is a Village Design Statement?
  • Community Views on Cong - Likes & Dislikes
  • Character & Identity of Cong Village
  • Where to now?
  • Conclusions

For those who were not available to participate in the character workshop, you can fill out the questionnaire below and email it to heritage@mayococo.ie
