Village Design Statements


Mayo County Council, in partnership with the communities of Louisburgh and Belcarra and The Heritage Council, have prepared draft Village Design Statements on a pilot basis for the county.

Village Design Statements rely on input from local communities to:

- identify the local distinctive character of the village and surrounding countryside

- provide design guidance for new development

The draft Louisburgh and Belcarra Village Design Statements are available for inspection from 21st December 2007 to 15th February 2008 below

or 

at Aras an Chontae, Castlebar and Westport Civic Offices, from 9.00am-1.00pm and 2.00-5.00pm, Monday to Friday, at Castlebar and Louisburgh libraries, during normal library opening hours.

You are invited to comment on the draft Village Design StatementS by making a written submission which should be sent or emailed to Deirdre Cunningham, Heritage Officer at the address below.
