Funding available to communities to celebrate Mayo Day 2015

COMMUNITIES CELEBRATING MAYO DAY 2015

Community Tourism Diaspora Fund

Mayo Day is set to be a celebration of our ‘Mayo-ness’ in Mayo Communities worldwide.  We want to use this unique opportunity annually to showcase all that is great about our progressive, can-do County.

Mayo Day will take place each year on the first Saturday in May

with the inaugural Mayo Day taking place on Saturday, 2nd May 2015.

Mayo County Council are inviting Mayo Communities at home and away to organise events and celebrations in their own Communities recognising and celebrating their County.

Communities are invited to apply for funding under the Community Tourism Diaspora Initiative for events which harness Diaspora links for the benefit of Local tourism.  This initiative is a three-way partnership between Fáilte Ireland, IPB Insurance and Mayo County Council.

While applications are invited from community groups for events taking place in 2015,

priority will be given to novel and creative Mayo Day Events.

For information and application forms, please email clynch@mayococo.ie or visit www.mayo.ie

THE CLOSING DATE FOR COMPLETED APPLICATIONS IS FRIDAY, 20TH FEBRUARY 2015
