Tá a gcuid ceoil fréamhaithe go daingean i gceol traidisiúnta na hÉireann ach tá tionchar ag an snagcheol agus ag an cheol rithime air. Dar leis an Irish Times tagann réimse leathan stíleanna ceoil (ceol imeallach atá measctha le gnéithe Meiriceánacha, snagcheol, ceol dúchasach ón Nua Shéalainn) le chéile ina gcuid ceoil, “as if they were lifelong bedfellows.” Is iad Nicola Joyce (canadh, bodhrán), Gerry Paul (giotár, bainseo, canadh), Andrew Laking (olldord, canadh, giotár), David Doocey (fidil, consairtín, feadóg) agus Stephen Doherty (fliúit, feadóg, mileoidean, pianó, bodhrán) baill an ghrúpa Gráda.

The Lost Brothers
BÉAL AN ÁTHA | BALLINA
Teampall N. Mícheál, Dé hAoine 16 Iúil 8i.n. | St. Michael’s Church, Friday 16th July 8pm

Is díséad Éireannach iad The Lost Brothers. Giotáraithe agus amhránaithe iad Mark McCausland agus Oisín Leech agus, cé nach deartháireacha iad ar chor ar bith, bíonn siad  ag trácht mar a chéile, mórán, ar a gcuid ceoil agus a mbrionglóidí. Ardmheas go deo a bhí ag léirmheastóirí i Sasana agus in Éirinn ó mhacasamhail NME, The Irish Times, Hot Press agus Word Magazine ar a gcéad albam, The Trails Of The Lonely (Parts I and III). Rinneadh tagairt dá gceol féin bheith cosúil le ceol Simon and Garfunkel ach rud beag níos gairbhe. Tá idir láidreacht agus leochaileacht i nglórtha Mark agus Oisín ina bhfuil fíorspiorad an duine daonna le mothú.

The Lost Brothers are an Irish duo. Guitarists and vocalists Mark McCausland and Oisín Leech aren’t actually brothers at all but from the way they talk about their music and the dreams they both have, they may as well be. Their debut album, The Trails Of The Lonely (Parts I and III) received rave reviews in England and Ireland from the likes of NME, The Irish Times, Hot Press and Word Magazine comparing the sound to that of a more ragged Simon and Garfunkel. Mark and Oisín’s voices carry a feeling of both strength and vulnerability and it captures the very essence of the human spirit.
