IS LEOR BEIRT | IT TAKES TWO

Creideann Conradh na Gaeilge nach bhfuil slua de dhíth le daoine a chur ag labhairt i nGaeilge i ngach cearn den tír - is leor beirt!

Tá tús curtha againn leis an chéad ghréasán náisiúnta de chiorcail chomhrá faoi theideal an fheachtais Is Leor Beirt i gcomhar le Scéimeanna Phobail Gaeilge timpeall na tíre. Tá sé an-éasca grúpa nua Is Leor Beirt a bhunú - níl ag teastáil ach go mbuailfidh grúpa beag le chéile i gcaife áitiúil nó sa bhialann san ionad oibre le comhrá le chéile i nGaeilge ar bhonn rialta. Cuireann beirt chainteoir Gaeilge fáilte roimh dhaoine eile le spéis sa teanga ag gach ionad a ghlacann páirt i scéim an Chonartha gach seachtain nó gach mí.

Níl aon chostas nó am breise de dhíth chun páirt a ghlacadh i ngréasán Gaeilge Is Leor Beirt, ó seo am lóin nó sos caife a bheadh á ghlacadh ag daoine ar aon nós, ach beidh sé á ghlacadh acu i suíomh éagsúil anois i dteannta daoine eile sa suim sa teanga.

Tabharfaidh scéim nua an Chonartha deis labhartha Gaeilge don ghnáthphobal agus cinnteoidh go mbeidh an Ghaeilge le cloisteáil go poiblí in ionaid éagsúla timpeall na tíre. Ní hamháin go mbeidh pointe teagmhála á chruthú ag an scéim do dhaoine lasmuigh de phobal na Gaeilge ar an dóigh seo, ach cabhróidh Is Leor Beirt go mór le daoine ar an gcúpla focal an easpa muiníne agus an eagla roimh úsáid na Gaeilge a dhíbirt i gcomhluadar cairdiúil, neamhfhoirmeálta.

Is féidir leat bualadh isteach sa Linenhall, Caisleán an Bharraigh gach maidin Dé Céadaoin idir 11.00 -12.00, chun cupán tae agus comhrá Gaeilge.

Conradh na Gaeilge doesn't believe you need to have tons of people to get your cúpla focal going - it only takes two!!

Conradh na Gaeilge has launched the first national network of Irish-language conversation circles by the name of Is Leor Beirt, or It Takes Two, in conjunction with Irish-Language Community Schemes across the country. It is extremely easy to set up a new Is Leor Beirt conversation circle; all you need is for a small group of people to meet in a local cafe or in your workplace restaurant to chat together in Irish on a regular basis. A minimum of two Irish-speakers will be at each venue partaking in Conradh na Gaeilge's scheme every week or every month, and will welcome new people to the group.

There is absolutely no extra cost or time needed to get involved with the Is Leor Beirt network as the scheme revolves around coffee breaks or lunchtimes that people would be taking anyway, only now they'll be relaxing in a new setting in the company of other people interested in the language.

The Conradh's new scheme Is Leor Beirt, or It Takes Two, gives everyone in the community a chance to use their cúpla focal and ensures Irish will be heard in various public places across the country. Not only will Conradh na Gaeilge's scheme be providing a contact point for people maybe not already involved in the Irish-language community, but Is Leor Beirt will help people overcome their fear and lack of confidence in speaking the language by providing a safe, friendly and informal setting to use their cúpla focal.

You can call into the Linenhall, Castlebar every Wednesday morning between 11.00 -12.00 for a cup of tea and a chat as Gaeilge.
