Féile Leabhar na bPáistí | Children's Book Festival

CEARDLANNA SCRÍBHNEOIREACHTA CRUTHAITHEACHA LE RÉ Ó LAIGHLÉIS | CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOPS WITH RÉ Ó LAIGHLÉIS:

Tá Leabharlann Chontae Mhaigh Eo i gcomhar le Foras na Gaeilge agus Leabhar Pháistí Éireann ag eagrú sraith ceardlanna Scríbhneoireachta Cruthaitheacha as Gaeilge leis an údar Ré Ó Laighléis mar chuid d’Fhéile Leabhar na bPáistí 2009. Déanfar na ceardlanna trí mheán na Gaeilge.

Beidh na ceardlanna ar siúl i Leabharlann Bhéal an Átha ar an 9ú Deireadh Fómhair, Leabharlann Chaisleán an Bharraigh ar an 16ú Deireadh Fómhair, Leabharlann Chlár Chlainne Mhuiris ar an 22ú Deireadh Fómhair agus Leabharlann Chathair na Mart ar an 23ú Deireadh Fómhair.

Tabharfar faoi cheachtanna bunúsacha sna nithe seo a leanas le linn gach céim:

(a) Tús, Buaicphointe agus Críoch Scéalta a fhorbairt

(b) Tréithe carachtair a shainaithint ó ábhar a bheidh á léamh do na rannpháirtithe (ionas go mbainfidh na páistí sult as, ach, níos mó ná sin, le go mbeidh siad in ann tréithe a shainaithint agus a fhorbairt ina gcarachtair féin, ina gcuid scéalta féin)

(c) Mapáil focal de réir carachtair/tréithe carachtair.

(d) Comhrá de réir carachtair/ tréithe carachtair.

Cuid ríthábhachtach de na seisiúin, le mothúcháin a léiriú agus le gnóthachtáil a bhrath, ná go léifidh gach páiste a s(h)aothar go hiomlán nó cuid dá s(h)aothar.

As part of Children’s Book Festival 2009 Mayo County Library, in partnership with Foras na Gaeilge and Children’s Books Ireland, has organized a number of Creative Writing Workshops as Gaeilge facilitated by author Ré Ó Laighléis.  The workshops are aimed at 6th class pupils, the sessions will be delivered through the medium of Irish.

Selected venues are Ballina Library on the 9th Oct, Castlebar Library on the 16th Oct., Claremorris Library on the 22nd Oct and Westport Library on the 23rd Oct.

Basic exercises in the following will be conducted in the course of each session:

(a) Development of optimal Beginning, Climax and End points of story

(b) Identification of character traits from material that is read to the participants (primarily for their enjoyment, but ultimately as part of the process that leads them to identify and develop the traits of their own characters in their own stories)

(c) Word mapping by character/by character traits.

(d) Dialogue by character/by character traits.

A crucial element in the sessions, both for reasons of expression and sense of achievement will be to have each child read his/her work in total or in part.
