Céard é an leabhar Gaeilge is fearr leat? Inis dúinn faoin leabhar Gaeilge is fearr leat, b'fhéidir gur léigh tú leabhar ar scoil nó sa mbaile agus go gceapann tú gurbh é an leabhar is fearr riamh é, inis dúinn cén fáth ar thaitin an leabhar chomh mór sin leat!

Beidh duaiseanna iontacha ar fáil ag scoláirí ó rang 4,5, agus a 6 a scríobhann idir 100-200 focal faoin leabhar is fearr leo.

SIANSA GAEL LINN

Siansa Gael Linn is teideal don chomórtas do ghrúpaí traidisiúnta atá á reáchtáil ag Gael Linn, le tacaíocht ó RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta agus Irish Music Magazine, chun spreagadh agus ardán a thabhairt don chuid is fearr do ógthhallann ceoil agus amhránaíochta traidisiúnta na tire. 

Tá súil againn grúpaí a mhealladh a mbeidh sé mar sprioc acu an ceol agus an amhránaíocht tradisiúnta a thabhairt leo, mar atá déanta ag grúpaí ar nós Téada, Altan, Danú nó Solas &rl. Tá an comórtas oscailte do dhaoine óga atá ós cionn 12 agus faoi bhun 19 mbliana d’aois.  Bíonn idir cúigear agus ochtar i ngach grúpa.

Beidh Craobh Siansa 2010 á chraoladh beo ag RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta ón gCeoláras Náisiúnta, Baile Átha Cliath ar an Domhnach, 25 Aibreán 2010, áit a mbeidh 8 ngrúpa san iomaíocht do duaischiste €4,500. Is é data deiridh iontrála ná 16ú Samhain 2009 agus caithfidh na hiarrachtaI cheoil a bheith ag Gael Linn roimh 14 Nollaig 2009.

Siansa Gael Linn is a competition for young traditional music and singing groups organised be Gael Linn with funding from RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta and Irish Music Magazine. Siansa provides a platform for traditional groups who are aiming to develop their own traditional style as did Téada, Altan, Danú or Solas etc.

Young people taking part in Siansa must be over 12 and under 19 years of age.  Groups may have between five and eight members.

The Siansa 2010 final will be broadcast live by RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta this year from the National Concert Hall, Dublin on Sunday 25th April 2010 where 8 groups of taltented teenage musicians and singers will be in contention for a prize fund of €4,500. Last date for enteries is 16th November 2009 and Gael Linn must be in receipt of all recordings by 14th December 2008.

Leis an duaischiste is mó sa tír ó thaobh na scríbhneoireachta de, beidh muintir na Taibhdheirce ag súil go dtabharfaidh Gradam Scríbhneoireachta Bháitear Uí Mhaicín spreagadh do ghlúin nua peann a chuir le pár. Beidh  €7,500 le buachan don fhad-dhráma is fearr chomh maith le €1,000 don ghearrdhráma is fearr. 

With the largest writing award of its kind in Ireland, the Walter Macken Playwriting Award, An Taibhdhearc is hoping to inspire a new generation of writing for theatre in the Irish language. €7,500 will be awarded to the writer of the best full length play, with €1,000 to be awarded to the best one act or short play.

CRITÉIR DO DHUAIS CHOLMCILLE | CRITERIA FOR DUAIS CHOLMCILLE:

Tá na critéir do Dhuais Cholmcille fógartha ag Glór na nGael. Rachaidh an duais is déanaí seo ón chomórtas náisiúnta chuig an ghrúpa deonach is fearr a fhorbraíonn naisc idir cainteoirí Gaeilge in Éirinn agus cainteoirí Gàidhlig in Albain. Is é Colmcille a bheidh ag déanamh urraíochta ar an duais. Bunaíodh Colmcille sa bhliain 1997 le naisc teanga agus cultúrtha a chur chun cinn idir pobail an dá theanga.

Is í aidhm na duaise ná aitheantas a thabhairt d‘obair dheonach a spreagann naisc idir an dá phobal Gaelach, in Éirinn agus san Albain. Tá dóchas ag Glór na nGael agus Colmcille féin go spreagfaidh sé foghlaim ar an dá thaobh de Shruth na Maoile.

Caithfidh grúpaí ar suim leo cur isteach ar an chomórtas na critéir seo a leanas a shásamh:

• Caithfidh na hiontrálacha bheith bunaithe ar an nasc idir an Ghaeilge agus an Ghàidhlig

• Caithfidh na hiontrálacha cumarsáid a chothú idir Gaeilgeoirí agus cainteoirí Gàidhlig;

• Go rachadh an nasc chun sochair an dá phobail;

• Caithfidh na coistí nó na grúpaí pobail cumarsáid éifeachtach a dhéanamh le chéile;

• Caithfidh gné foghlama Gaeilge in Albain nó Gàidhlig in Éirinn a bheith mar chuid de chlár imeachtaí na hiontrála;

• Cuirfear fáilte roimh coistí nó grúpaí deonacha,

• Mar chuid de mholtóireacht an chomórtais, beidh gá le tuairisc scríofa ó na rannpháirtithe;

• Go gcaithfear aon duais a bhuafar sa chomórtas seo leis an nasc idir an dá phobal teanga a dhoimhniú.

Glór na nGael has announced the criteria for Duais Cholmcille, the new prize that the national competition is offering to those involved in developing links between Irish speakers in Ireland and Gàidhlig speakers in Scotland. Colmcille is sponsoring the new prize. It was established in 1997 to promote cultural and linguistic links between the two language communities.

The aim of Duais Colmcille is to give acknowledgment to voluntary work that promotes links between Gaelic-speakers and the Gaelic-speaking communities of Ireland and Scotland. Both Colmcille itself and Glór na nGael hope that it will encourage further learning opportunities on both sides of the Sea of Moyle. Entrants to the competition will need to satisfy the following requirements:

• All entries must be based on the link between the Gaelic speaking communities in Scotland and Ireland.

• Entries must encourage contact between Irish speakers and Gàidhlig speakers;

• The links should be to the benefit of both communities;

• Committees from the two communities must establish effective communication with each other;

• There must be an element of learning Irish in Scotland or Gàidhlig in Ireland for the respective in the programme of entries;

• Entries are welcomed from committees and voluntary organisations;

• As part of the adjudication of the competition, there will be a requirement for a written report from participants;

• Any prize that may be won must be spent on deepening the link between the two language communities.

GRADAM GNÓ LE GAEILGE

Má bhaineann tú úsáid as an nGaeilge i do ghnólacht, ar stáiseanóireacht, comharthaíocht, poiblíocht, cumarsáid nó más seirbhís nó earraí Gaeilge/dhátheangach a chuireann tú ar fáil, is fiú go mór duit iarratas a chur isteach faoin rannóg 'Gradam Gnó le Gaeilge'. Tá an rannóg 'Gradam Gnó le Gaeilge' oscailte do ghnólachtaí ar fud Mhaigh Eo.

Tugann an gradam seo aitheantas do ghnóthaí atá ag úsáid na Gaeilge mar uirlis ghnó nó mar mhodh margaíochta / cumarsáide chun buntáiste iomaíochta a bhaint amach. Tá an duais seo oscailte d’uile ghnólacht atá lonnaithe i gCo. Mhaigh Eo. Is é an Aoine, an 2ú Deireadh Fómhair 2009 an dáta deiridh le haghaidh iontrálaithe. Tá an t-eolas faoi na gradaim Ghnó uile ar fáil ó gach oifig de chuid Chumann Trádála Mhaigh Eo nó ó Ghnó Mhaigh Eo.

I mbliana is é Gnó Mhaigh Eo i gcomhar le hÚdarás na Gaeltachta atá ina urraitheoir ar Ghradam Gnó le Gaeilge.

GRADAM GNÓ LE GAEILGE (Business through Irish Award)

This award recognises businesses that use the Irish language as a tool for business or as a method in their marketing / communications to enhace their competitive advantage. This award is open to all businesses located in County Mayo.

The closing date for applications is Friday, 2nd October. Information on all the Business awards is available from all the Mayo Chamber offices or from Gnó Mhaigh Eo.

This year the Gnó le Gaeilge Award is sponsored by Gnó Mhaigh Eo in partnership with Údarás na Gaeltachta.
