At the outset of the Meeting, the Cathaoirleach stated that he wished, on behalf ot the Council, to extend Good Wishes to the new Bishop of Killala, Dr. John Fleming. He also extended Best Wishes to the outgoing Bishop, Dr. Thomas Finnegan.

(d) "In view of Castlebar Sewerage Treatment Works being selected for a Public Private Partnership, that the Mayo County Manager outlines in detail the implications for Mayo County Council versus direct funding from the Dept. of Environment".

Mr. J. Beirne, Dir. of Services / Co. Engineer clarified the position regarding
the design, build and operate scheme and public private partnership. A general discussion then ensued.
