MINUTES OF MAYO COUNTY COUNCIL MEETING HELD IN THE SPORTS COMPLEX, BELMULLET, ON MONDAY, 23rd JUNE, 2003, AT 4.00 p.m.

A number of tributes were paid to the Cathaoirleach for the manner in which he carried out his duties during his term of Office.

TO APPROVE PRELIMINARY REPORT DATED 16th JUNE, 2003, IN RESPECT OF PURTEEN HARBOUR DEVELOPMENT.

TO APPROVE OF THE PAYMENT OF A GRANT IN THE SUM OF €30,000 FROM THE ENTERPRISE AND EMPLOYMENT FUND TO LAKESIDE SPORTS AND FITNESS CLUB, BALLINROBE.

"That we hereby approve of the payment of a Grant in the sum of €30,000 from the Enterprise and Employment Fund to Lakeside Sports and Fitness Club, Ballinrobe".

TO APPROVE OF THE PAYMENT OF A GRANT IN THE SUM OF €30,000 FROM THE ENTERPRISE AND EMPLOYMENT FUND TO LACKEN SPORTS & RECREATION ASSOCIATION LIMITED.

TO APPROVE OF THE PAYMENT OF A GRANT IN THE SUM OF €70,000 FROM THE ENTRPRISE AND EMPLOYMENT FUND TO IAR ROS TEIC, BEAL AN MHUIRTHEAD COMMUNITY BASED ADULT LEARNING CENTRE.

"That we hereby approve of the payment of a Grant in the sum of €70,000 from the Enterprise and Employment Fund to Iar Ros Teic, Beal An Mhuirthead Community Based Adult Learning Centre".

TO APPROVE OF THE DISPOSAL OF 402 m2 AND 423 m2 OF LAND AND BUILDINGS IN RESPECT OF INTEGRATED SERVICES CENTRE, SRAHEENS, ACHILL SOUND, CO. MAYO, TO THE WESTERN HEALTH BOARD, MERLIN PARK, GALWAY AND UDARAS NA GAELTACHTA, NA FORBACHA, GAILLIMH, IN ACCORDANCE WITH NOTICE DATED 11th JUNE, 2003, ALREADY CIRCULATED.

Resolved:-

"That we hereby approve of the disposal of 402 m2 and 423 m2 of Land and Buildings in respect of Integrated Services Centre, Sraheens, Achill Sound, Co. Mayo, to the Western Health Board, Merlin Park, Galway and Udaras na Gaeltachta, Na Forbacha, Gaillimh, for (a) €811,148 and (b) €853,522, in accordance with Section 183 of the Local Government Act, 2001, and Notice dated 11th June, 2003, already circulated".

NOTICES OF MOTION.

(a) "Calling on Mayo County Council to immediately withdraw the

permit granted to Glancre Teoranta for production at its plant at

Muingmore, Geesala, for failing to adhere to the conditions of this

permit and completely ignoring An Bord Pleanala decision".

At the request of Cllr. G. Coyle, it was agreed to defer this Notice of

Motion to the next Meeting of the Council.
