ITEM NO. 1.

TO CONSIDER LIST OF PLANNING APPLICATIONS DATED 20th MAY, 2003.

 

1. Gillian Doody & Paul Kirwan – Application for Planning Permission

to construct dwellinghouse and septic tank at Crillaun, Ross West,

Castlebar.

The Council were informed of the up to date position on this

Planning application.

2. Angela Devaney – Application for Planning Permission to construct

dwellinghouse and septic tank at Lavymore, Charlestown.

The Council were informed of the up to date position on this

Planning application.

3. John Barrett – Application for Planning Permission to construct

dwellinghouse and septic tank at Roemore, Breaffy, Castlebar.

ITEM NO. 2.

TO CONSIDER REPORT DATED 15th MAY, 2003, IN ACCORDANCE WITH PART 8 OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT) REGULATIONS, 2001, AND THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 2001, IN RESPECT OF THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF 19 NO. DWELLINGS AND RESOURCE / COMMERCIAL UNIT AT ST. GERARD’S COURT, BALLYHAUNIS.

"That we hereby adopt Report dated 15th May, 2003, in accordance with Part 8 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations, 2001, and the Local Government Act, 2001, in respect of the proposed development of 19 No. dwellings and Resource / Commercial Unit at St. Gerard’s Court, Ballyhaunis".

TO APPROVE PRELIMINARY REPORT DATED 6th MAY, 2003, IN RESPECT OF GWEESALIA SEWERAGE SCHEME.

TO CONSIDER DRAFT MAYO COUNTY DEVELOPMENT PLAN (ALREADY CIRCULATED) AND COUNTY MANAGER’S REPORT DATED 23rd APRIL, 2003 (ALREADY CIRCULATED).

"That Special Meetings of the Council be held on 4th July, 7th July and 14th July, 2003, at 2.00 p.m., in order to consider the Draft Mayo County Development Plan (already circulated) and County Manager’s Report dated 23rd April, 2003 (already circulated) and that Workshops on the Development Plan be held on 6th June, 13th June, 20th June and 27th June, 2003, at 2.00 p.m.".

TO CONSIDER PRESENTATION MADE BY CAPTAIN BRENDAN CONWELL, FCA, AT COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON 28th APRIL, 2003.

"That this Council write to the Minister for Defence requesting details of his proposals for the future of the FCA in County Mayo and that, in the meantime, the status quo remain".

A brief discussion took place regarding the completion and forthcoming opening of the One Stop Shop in Achill.

TO CONSIDER NOMINATING REPRESENTATIVES TO ATTEND GENERAL COUNCIL OF COUNTY COUNCILS ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2003 TO BE HELD IN THE SILVER SPRINGS HOTEL, CORK, ON 30th AND 31st MAY, 2003.

The Council were informed of the estimated cost of sending a Delegate to this Conference.

NATIONAL HUMBERT SCHOOL – "WAR AND PEACE" – TO BE HELD IN MOYNE COLLEGE, BALLINA, FROM 1st TO 6th JULY, 2003.

The Council were informed of the estimated cost of sending a Delegate to this Conference.

TO CONSIDER NOMINATING REPRESENTATIVES TO ATTEND DR. DOUGLAS HYDE CONFERENCE 2003 – "PEOPLE AND PLACE : AN EXPLORATION OF LANDSCAPE AND MIGRATION IN THE POETRY AND MUSIC OF THE WEST OF IRELAND" – TO BE HELD IN ST. NATHY’S COLLEGE, BALLAGHADERREEN, CO. ROSCOMMON, FROM 18th TO 20th JULY, 2003.

Roscommon, from 18th to 20th July, 2003".

Robert Emmet Summer School – Tipperary Town – 6th to 8th June, 2003.

The County Manager informed the Members that a visit had been arranged, for a group of 10, to Ballina Beverages (Coca Cola) in Ballina on Friday, 30th May, 2003, at 2.30 p.m.
