ITEM NO. 2.
TO LAUNCH BOOKLET ENTITLED – “AG AGHAIDH LINN LE CHEILE” (LET US GO FORWARD TOGETHER) – 1999 – 2004.
The County Manager outlined details of this Item.

ITEM NO. 3.
TO CONSIDER REPORT ON ASSESSMENT OF PIERS, HARBOURS AND LANDING PLACES IN COUNTY MAYO.

ITEM NO. 4.
POLLING INFORMATION CARDS.
The Co. Secretary outlined the position regarding the issuing of Polling Information Cards for Local and European Elections.

TO CONSIDER DECIDING TO GRANT PERMISSION FOR THE FOLLOWING DEVELOPMENT: CONSTRUCTION OF 5 NO. 1 BEDROOM APARTMENTS, 1 NO. 3 BEDROOM APARTMENT AND 2 NO. 2 BEDROOM APARTMENTS TOGETHER WITH ALL ANCILLARY SITE WORKS AND SERVICES AT CLARE, CLAREMORRIS, CO. MAYO, WHICH WOULD MATERIALLY CONTRAVENT THE CLAREMORRIS TOWN PLAN 1995.

Mayo, which materially contravenes the Claremorris Town Plan 1995”.
ITEM NO. 6.
TO APPROVE OF OVERDRAFT ACCOMMODATION OF €30m. FOR HALF-YEAR ENDING 31st
DECEMBER, 2004.

“That we hereby approve of Overdraft Accommodation of €30m. for
Half-Year ending 31st December, 2004, subject to the sanction of the

TO CONSIDER REPORT DATED 22nd DECEMBER, 2003, IN ACCORDANCE
WITH PART 8 OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT) REGULATIONS,
2001, AND THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 2001, IN RESPECT OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW
LIBRARY WITH 2 NO. ACCOMMODATION UNITS AT FIRST FLOOR LEVEL AND 1 NO. HOUSE
UNIT AT CHAPEL STREET, LOUISBURGH.

TO NOTE 2004 GRANT ALLOCATIONS FOR LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS SCHEME.

TO APPROVE OF THE PAYMENT OF GRANT OF €20,000 FROM THE ENTERPRISE AND EMPLOYMENT FUND TO THE HEINRICH BOLL COTTAGE COMMITTEE, ACHILL.

KILLALA, TO JOHN & SANDRA LANGAN, t/a LANGAN RECYCLING & WASTE
DISPOSAL, BALLINA, IN ACCORDANCE WITH NOTICE DATED 19th APRIL, 2004,

ITEM NO. 15.
TO APPROVE OF THE DISPOSAL OF SITE OF PROPERTY OF CIRCA 4.00 ACRES AT
KEEL SANDYBANKS, ACHILL, CO. MAYO, TO THE WESTERN HEALTH BOARD, MERLIN PARK,
GALWAY, IN ACCORDANCE WITH NOTICE DATED 28th APRIL, 2004, ALREADY
CIRCULATED.
The County Manager and County Secretary outlined the details of this
Item to the Members.
A long and detailed discussion ensued during which the Members expressed
their views on the disposal.

“That we hereby approve of the disposal of Site of property of circa
4.00 acres at Keel Sandybanks, Achill, Co. Mayo, to the Western Health Board,
Merlin Park, Galway, for €100.00 per annum, in accordance with Section 183 of
the Local Government Act, 2001, and Notice dated 28th April, 2004,
already circulated and subject to Good Title”.
ITEM NO. 16.
TO NOTE MINUTES OF PLANNING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC POLICY
COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON 9th FEBRUARY, 2004.

NOTICES OF MOTION.

It was agreed to defer Notices of Motion (a) to (d) inclusive, as listed
on the Agenda, to the July Meeting of the Council.

The Cathaoirleach, Cllr. F. Chambers, said it was a historic Meeting as
it was the last Meeting of the present Council. He wished those who were retiring good health and happiness in
the years to come and to those who were seeking re-election to the Council, he
wished them the best of good luck in their quest. He thanked the County Manager and his Staff for the courtesty
and co-operation shown to him during his term as Cathaoirleach.
He also thanked the Members of the Press for their impartial coverage.
Members of the Council, who were not seeking re-election to the Council,
expressed their appreciation to their fellow Councillors, County Manager and
Staff. They thanked the County Manager
and his Staff for the courtesy and co-operation which they had received over
the years and they wished the retiring Councillors and those seeking
re-election, every good wish for the future.
The County Manager thanked all the Councillors for their loyalty to
Local Government and the people of Mayo.
He wished the Members, both retiring and otherwise, good luck, good
health and happiness in the future.
