MINUTES OF MAYO COUNTY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, 24TH JUNE, 2002, AT 4.00 p.m.

ITEM NO. 2
TO CONSIDER REPORT, CIRCULATED ON 16TH APRIL, 2002, ON SUBMISSIONS AND OBSERVATIONS RECEIVED DURING CONSULTATION PROCESS AND ON MATTERS ARISING OUT OF CONSULTATIONS CONCERNING THE REVIEW OF EXISTING DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR COUNTY MAYO AND THE PREPARATION OF A NEW DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR COUNTY MAYO AND TO ISSUE DIRECTIONS ON POLICIES TO BE INCLUDED IN THE DRAFT DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The Report of the County Manager on Submissions and Observations received during Consultation process and on matters arising out of Consultations

concerning the review of existing Development Plan for County Mayo and the preparation of a new Development Plan for County Mayo, which was circulated to the Members on 16th April, 2002, was considered by the Council.

Mr. J. Loftus, Dir. of Services, informed the Meeting that it was the duty of the Members to consider the County Manager's Report and that they may issue directions to the County Manager regarding the preparation of the Draft Development Plan as outlined in County Secretary's Report dated 16th April, 2002.

"That the Reports of the County Secretary and County Manager, circulated on 16th April, 2002, on Submissions and Observations received during Consultation process and on matters arising out of Consultations concerning the review of existing Development Plan for County Mayo and the preparation of a new Development Plan for County Mayo, be noted and that the County Manager proceed to the next stage of preparing the Draft Development Plan for County Mayo in accordance with the Planning and Development Act, 2000".

ITEM NO. 3
TO CONSIDER PROPOSED VARIATION OF MAYO COUNTY DEVELOPMENT PLAN TO INCORPORATE RETAIL STRATEGY FOR COUNTY MAYO

The Members considered the proposed variation of the Mayo County Development Plan to incorporate Retail Strategy for County Mayo and County Manager's Report, already circulated, on the Submissions and Observations received in relation thereto.

TO ENDORSE THE MAYO COUNTY DEVELOPMENT BOARD DRAFT 10 YEAR INTEGRATED STRATEGY FOR THE ECONOMIC, CULTURAL AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT OF COUNTY MAYO.

"That Mayo County Council hereby endorse the Mayo County Development Board Draft 10 Year Integrated Strategy for the Economic, Cultural and Social Development of County Mayo."

TO CONSIDER REPORT DATED 10TH JUNE, 2002, PURSUANT TO SECTION 2(8) OF THE CITY AND COUNTY MANAGEMENT (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1955, AND PART 10 OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT) REGULATIONS, 1994, IN RESPECT OF BALLINDINE SEWERAGE SCHEME - SERVICED LAND INITIATIVE.
