AUDIO / VISUAL EQUIPMENT FOR COUNTY COUNCIL MEETINGS.

 

Mr. J. Condon, Meetings Administrator, outlined details of the facilities which have been installed in the Council Chamber to facilitate Audio / Visual presentations.

 

He also confirmed that the newly Elected Members would be supplied with Computers and that arrangements are being made for the issue of Agendas and associated documentation electronically.

NOTICES OF MOTION.

(a)       “The Members of Mayo County Council hereby resolve to delete the

            appropriate part of Section 4.16.3 Page 100 of the Mayo County

            Development Plan which requires all suitably qualified personnel i.e.

            Architects and Engineers to have Public Liability Insurance”.

 

            Mr. J. Loftus, Dir. of Services, replied to this Notice of Motion.

 

(b)       “That this Council calls on the Mayo County Manager to outline in

            detail the plans, if any, to a change of policy in regard to the

            Machinery Schedule and if there are any plans to let some road

            works out to private Contractors”.

 

            Report dated 19th April, 2004, as circulated, was accepted by the

            Council.

 

(c)       “Calling on Mayo County Council to clarify in as far as possible the

            numbers of buildings both commercial and residential including

            housing estates that have been constructed in the County during the

            last 10 years that do not comply with planning permission and to

            immediately appoint a full time Enforcement Officer to police the

            matter”.

            “That Mayo Co. Co. calls on the Government to give top priority to        the provision of the following infrastructure:

            1.         The upgrading of the N5 from Longford to Westport, the N26

                        from Bohola to Ballina and the N84 from Castlebar to

                        Ballinrobe”.

            “That Mayo Co. Co. calls on the Government to give top priority to

            the provision of the following infrastructure:-

            2.         The provision of broadband to the entire County by means of

                        fibre optic cable in urban areas and wireless connectivity in

                        rural districts”.

 

            Mr. J. Condon, Meetings Administrator, outlined the current position

            in relation to this Notice of Motion.

 

(e)       “That Mayo County Council base its refuse charge for 2005 on

            weight or charge per lift rather than bin size”.

 

            The County Manager clarified the position regarding this Notice of

            Motion.
